This workbook teaches reading the way schools do it: by sound, not by guessing at whole words. It starts with s, a, t and p — four sounds that already make words like sat and tap — and adds a small group at a time until sh, ch and th. Every part ends with a short story your child reads alone, and a question about what happened in it, so reading always leads somewhere.
